2 July The first of three community cohesion projects involving Beechwood Secondary School, St Joseph's Catholic High School and Langley Grammar School concludes with a conference. The event incorporated visits to the Polish Church Of Divine Mercy, the Hindu Mandir, the Jamia Masjid and Sri Guru Singh Sabha Gurdwara. The young participants also created a mural reflecting their experience of the project.

The team take part in teambuilding activities such as abseiling, raft building and zip wiring & receive conflict resolution training from the staff team and Michael Fryer, renowned independent CR consultant. Phase One of the Common Ground Project is complete! The Common Ground Project is an ongoing artistic dialogue over issues of culture, diversity and social cohesion in our communities. Throughout the Summer, SYPC in collaboartion with Aik Saath have been bringing young people together with professional artists to explore these issues through dance, music, drama, radio, poetry and video production. See the first set of results at SYPC: 28/10 7.30 pm 29/10 1.30 pm 29/10 5.30 pm (the last performance culminates in the lights launch of Together As One (see above)

Seven Aik Saath members attended Preventing Racist Violence, Work with Actual and Potential Perpetrators - Learning from Practice to Policy Change. The conference was held to launch the new Runnymede Trust report of the same name. 29th March-4th April Aik Saath works with 58 young people from the Afterhours Arts Academy based at SYPC. Aik Saath will be working alongside the Academy to produce a multimedia arts installation at the West Wing along the theme of Common Ground. The final product will appear at the West Wing in September of this year.
