9 July	Aik Saath deliver a presentation at 'Embedding Community Cohesion in Your School,' a conference organised by Slough Borough Council's Ethnic Minority Achievement and Traveller Education Team.
9 July	Aik Saath deliver a presentation for Thames Valley Police on preventing violent extremism.
2 July	The first of three community cohesion projects involving Beechwood Secondary School, St Joseph's Catholic High School and Langley Grammar School concludes with a conference. The event incorporated visits to the Polish Church Of Divine Mercy, the Hindu Mandir, the Jamia Masjid and Sri Guru Singh Sabha Gurdwara. The young participants also created a mural reflecting their experience of the project.
19 June	Aik Saath's mentoring project, involving Slough & Eton Church of England Business & Enterprise College, wins the Thames Valley Partnership's Young Citizen Award. Representatives from Aik Saath and the school attend a celebration event at Vodafone's headquarters in Newbury.

4 April	Aik Saath host "Community Cohesion and Young People: Past, Present and Future," a half day conference to celebrate ten years of Aik Saath and launch our new research project. Speakers included Fiona Mactaggart, MP for Slough, Inspector Pete Carter (Thames Valley Police) and Selmah Chaudhary (Slough Young People's Centre).
2-14 April	The fourth annual Same Difference Film Festival takes place in partnership with Slough Co-operative Film Society. Over two weeks the festival attracted nearly eight hundred people. To find out more visit our festival website.
28 March	Aik Saath's Partition exhibition opens at Abertillery Museum in Wales.
25 March	Aik Saath held a presentation evening for the Hillingdon schools that took part in our recent community cohesion programmes. Pupils from Barnhill Community School, Harlington Community School, Uxbridge High School & Uxbridge College attended the evening at the Park Inn Hotel and received certificates from Superintendent Maurice Hartnett.

27 March - 3 April	The third Same Difference Film Festival takes place with showings taking place across Slough. 674 people visited us in our festival shop in the Queensmere Observatory Shopping Centre and 1,267 people attended film showings. 14th Aug - 18th Aug	Aik Saath's annual residential takes place in Avon Tyrrell, the New Forest. The team take part in teambuilding activities such as abseiling, raft building and zip wiring & receive conflict resolution training from the staff team and Michael Fryer, renowned independent CR consultant. 12th Aug	Aik Saath organise Routes4Change 2, a sponsored walk to raise money for the children of Yirgaalem, Ethiopia. The walk between Slough and Langley Country Park raised £700 for a new school in Yirgaalem. Click here for photos.

28th June	To mark the end of the Community Cohesion project and to congratulate all the young people that took part on their hard work a presentation evening was held at Baylis House. Friends and families of all the participants attended and the Mayor of Slough, David MacIsaac presented the young people with their certificates.

28th-29th Oct	Phase One of the Common Ground Project is complete! The Common Ground Project is an ongoing artistic dialogue over issues of culture, diversity and social cohesion in our communities. Throughout the Summer, SYPC in collaboartion with Aik Saath have been bringing young people together with professional artists to explore these issues through dance, music, drama, radio, poetry and video production. See the first set of results at SYPC: 28/10 7.30 pm 29/10 1.30 pm 29/10 5.30 pm (the last performance culminates in the lights launch of Together As One (see above)
19th Oct	Seven Aik Saath members attended Preventing Racist Violence, Work with Actual and Potential Perpetrators - Learning from Practice to Policy Change. The conference was held to launch the new Runnymede Trust report of the same name. 29th March-4th April	Aik Saath works with 58 young people from the Afterhours Arts Academy based at SYPC. Aik Saath will be working alongside the Academy to produce a multimedia arts installation at the West Wing along the theme of Common Ground. The final product will appear at the West Wing in September of this year.

24th-27th Oct	Aik Saath's third annual residential training weekend held in Oxford. 10 young people took part and the training covered Conflict resolution and Facilitation Skills.
September	The group works with photographer and design artist Ben Johnson to produce some new promotional postcards to reflect the work and aims of Aik Saath to target young people.

6th Mar	The Aik Saath group gives a presentation at the 'Diversity, Race Relations and Citizenship Education ' conference organised by Thames Valley Partnership held in High Wycombe. The young people's presentation received some very good feedback.

25th & 26th July	Euro-Asian Mela held at Upton Court Park in Slough. The group carried out promotion and recruited new members onto the project at this event.

30th March	'The Peacemaker' Documentary is aired on Channel Four. The documentary covered the tensions in Slough with Dr. Weeks as the Conflict Facilitator.
